I’m an ordinary guy with a family, trying to navigate a busy daily life against the backdrop of a spiritual journey. Mostly, I describe myself as nobody doing anything or going anywhere and I’m always very busy doing nothing. However, one clue I picked up somewhere along the way was that communicating with others about this strange journey through life was helpful. We’re all trying to balance our outer and inner worlds.
You’re on a spiritual journey too, whether you realize it or not. We all are. However, it seems even more interesting than that. In fact, not only are you the starring role and the main character in your journey, but you also wrote the scripts that you’re playing out. Huh? Yes, and you happen to also be the director and the producer of your entire story. Your story is your journey. Your journey is a spiritual one. Meaning, we will all be journeying until the destination arrives wherein we awaken and realize it. Far out, right?
My hope is that this site and this blog will become part of a community of people who are consciously waking up together. Perhaps some of the material and contributions on this site can be used for discussion topics of your own with like-minded people. So what’s ‘Unreality Check’ mean? It’s a play off of ‘Reality Check’, which basically means an occasion when one is reminded of things in the world. One problem though — the real world, as it’s tied to the definition, isn’t real. Or at the very least, it’s not everything. And it appears to be completely made up by your mind. Fear, anger, money, acorns, problems, tubas, thoughts, astro-turf and jealousy are all examples of concepts created by the mind. What the mind creates is all relatively real. It seems to me that what’s behind all that ballyhoo and melodrama is what’s actually real. Okay, so what is that? Experience? Soul? Oneness? Peace? Home?
